Memories - Nike Air Max Triax (1994)

Nike Air Max Triax running shoe, 1994 colorwayMy getting these particular Nike sneakers was the result of a trip to the emergency room. It definitely wasn't the worst I had felt with a GI upset, but it was one of the few I had encountered where I had severe dehydration. After the ER doctor checked out a number of possible problems, he came to the conclusion that I was either "normal or normal for a severely dehydrated person." Since I was fairly nauseated, they decided the best way to rehydrate me was two liters of IV solution. They put the first one in fast as they opened up all the metering valves and ran the IV bag up the pole to the ceiling. I thought I was going to freeze, but the fluid improved matters markedly.

Now, you're wondering, after reading through all these gory details: "Exactly what does this have to do with sneakers?" Well, the male nurse who did most of the poking and prodding and putting in the IV was wearing a pair of Nike Air Max Triax shoes. I really liked the way they looked. So, when I had fully recovered, I had to go out sneaker shopping!
