This is another Converse design from the early 1980's that they reissued in 2003. I remember the original Pro Star box pointed out the added flexibility provided by the dark heel insert and the forefoot design.

wore these in late 2016. Unfortunately, one of the shoe strings snapped. Haven't
replaced the shoe strings as of July 2017; lots of other possibilities around
here.
