As I remember, I went through a lot of sneakers during my four years at the University of Missouri. I suspect a lot of it came from having classes all over the campus.
One of my readers reminded me of the green-striped adidas Country sneaker. I remember it the best in connection with a class I took, dedicated to the subject of "Money and Banking." It was a large lecture class, but the professor teaching it found out that I laughed the loudest at his jokes. After a little while, I decided to play this little game of trying to sit different places in the auditorium and see if I could go "un-found." One day, I was a bit late, so I sat down in the most convenient place: in the middle of one of the aisles. As the professor put it to the class when he located me: "Not only does he laugh, but he has MONEY GREEN STRIPES on his sneakers!"
Later on, adidas made the Country sneaker with a ripple sole and in other colors.
This particular colorway is interesting in that it has perforated stripes, as in the Stan Smith tennis sneaker.
