The Campus sneaker from adidas was essentially a suede version of the smooth leather Superstar basketball shoe; analogous to the Puma 'Clyde' basketball shoe.
This model was first called the "Tournament" but was renamed the "Campus" in the 1980s.
Interestingly, both Converse and PRO-Keds made tri-striped suede shoes with similar designs; both eventually went to other logo devices on these models.
The Campus shares a herringbone outsole with the Promodel and Superstar.
Other Campus colors include bubble (bubblegum pink) and Argentina blue (light blue).
