Zoom AIR
Nike "Air Team Super Max" in black with white trim... Zoom Air and Max Air combinedA variant of Nike AIR where the AIR bag consists of two parallel fabric layers, connected with a large number of small fibers, and inflated with AIR. When compressed, the AIR in the Zoom AIR unit provides cushioning. When recovering from compression, the small fibers limit the amount of expansion. Zoom AIR provides a thinner AIR unit than would otherwise be possible. Appears to be the design in US Patent 4906502.
